A descendant of Han Chinese immigrants that arrived in Inner Mongolia during the mid- Qing period. They have been in Mongolia for at least two hundred years, yet continue the folk traditions of their ancestral home in Shanxi. During Chinese New Year there is a masquerade where villagers parade animal costumes and masks through the village. The fish is a symbol of auspiciousness and plenty.
